washington DC engagement photography {christy + jj}

I’ve been itching for a while now to blog this session and the time has finally arrived!!

As a history fanatic and political junkie, the Washington DC area is a very inspiring place for me to photograph…even more so in the fall.  A rich palette of autumn color mixed with the distinguishable character and architecture of the city and you have the ingredients to make any on-location portrait photographer just salivate!

Not only was I fortunate enough to to have the opportunity to shoot in such an amazing environment, but my new friends Christy and JJ were in love and it showed on camera.  They, like me, are totally passionate about all things fall.  So despite forecasts for rain we were all determined to make this happen by crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.

What made this shoot even more special was that Christy, who works for the House campaign division of the Democratic party, got a call while we were walking through the Eastern Market.  Her sister gave birth to little Lyla Jean, making Christy a first-time aunt!  It was truly special that I could be there to share that moment with them.

And so, without further ado, here are some photos from our excursions around Capitol Hill, specifically Lincoln Park and Eastern Market.

Congratulations Christy and JJ!  I can’t wait for your wedding!!!
